DISASTER ASSESSMENT TEAMS SURVEY FLOOD DAMAGE 

LAST RED CROSS SHELTER TO CLOSE AS DISASTER ASSESSMENT TEAMS SURVEY FLOOD DAMAGE

The last Red Cross closes today. The Shelter, located at the Copperfield Church on Hwy 6,closes at noon. Red Cross Shelters remain on standby and will be activated and opened if needed.
 
Red Cross Disaster Assessment teams will begin to canvas neighborhoods in Northwest Harris County and Southern Montgomery County to survey damage from yesterday’s flooding. Disaster Assessment helps Red Cross determine residents’ immediate disaster-caused needs.
 
At 10 am today, 4-5 trained Disaster Assessment teams will meet briefly at the Greater Houston Area Chapter of the American Red Cross before fanning out into flood affected communities in Harris and Montgomery Counties.
