Babysitter's Training (Updated) –                                                                                                                          (HS CAR201)
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course is to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and others safe; help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid.
This training is designed for youths ages 11 – 15.    This course does NOT meet the state reqirement to run a day care.

Babysitter's Training Plus –                                                                                                                                     (HS CAR202)
This is a two day course that includes basic Babysitter’s Training plus Infant and Child CPR and more comprehensive First Aid. The participant will leave with certificates for Babysitter’s Training, Infant and Child CPR and Standard First Aid.
This training is designed for youths ages 11 – 15. This course does NOT meet the state reqirement to run a day care.

Babysitter's Training Instructor                                                                                                                              (HS CAR801)
Trains instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course. This course prepares instructor candidates to use course materials, conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of participants in a basic-level course.
 
Prerequisites: Be at least 17 years of age on or before the last scheduled session of the course; Hold a current Fundamentals of Instructor Training * (FIT) certificate issued within the past year or be a currently authorized Red Cross instructor in a Health and Safety Services program; Pass the pre-course exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent (20 correct answers out of 25 questions); and Successfully perform all skills in the pre-course session.
